The Wild Horses: they kept coming!
by Wordpress Gone Wild ~ January 29th, 2010. Filed under: Wordpress Gone Wild.Over the Labor Day Weekend of 2009 the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) bumbled an ill-conceived and mismanaged round up of the world famous “Cloud’s Herd” of the Pryor Mountains in Montana. Ignoring their studies and the advice of experts they stampeded horses down 5000 feet of rocky mountainside in 95+ degree heat only to break apart family bands, pump the mares full of PZP and injure the horses. Despite public outcry, orders from a Congressman and questions from Senators the local BLM office in Billings destroyed this beautiful herd. This presentation was written in honor of Cloud’s herd and the pictures are exclusively from that “gather”. Get outraged, get mad and then get on the phone and call your elected federal officials and tell them that enough is enough. Learn more at rtfitch.wordpress.com

That’s what gets me, nobody is listening to us. I had thought that the Obama Administration wouldn’t allow this, boy was I wrong. The only reason I didn’t vote for McCain was Palin.

The world looked on with disbelief and heartbreak as this wicked round up took place, we in UK cannot understand how this terrible spectacle of shame was allowed to go ahead. America is the home of the wild horse, why is this happening? Why is humanity hurting the wild? One day we will only be able to see these glorious animals in history books…

I have cried and cried. This tragedy must not happen again in 2012. We must fight to stop it now. Please support The Cloud Foundation and spread the word. The Silence must NOT come!

@ DVincentW – Well, in the past the BLM has had scandals where their employees sold wild horses to slaughter. That was back in the 1990′s.
The justification is lobbyist money, provided by the ranching and livestock special interests. The BLM is pretty much controlled by them.

Duane:
I was bad mouthing the administration earlier during the Pryor round up, but now I am going to hold off. I am going to wait to see the outcome of our Mustangs On The Hill and all our footwork done in DC on Tuesday. They can’t just write off the 1,000s upon 1,000s of phone call, faxes, email and letters by citizens all over the US. The Cloud herd roundup also brought international attention. Senator Landrieu is on the Committee of Resources. That’s BIG!!!!

its a dieing planet because of this behavior ,greed and some who think they own everything , and they don’t own everything , its one thing when you have an agreement with those horses but to take them from there own natural life is like ending it , we all can make a difference in our conscousness i was tot spiritually that those who committe these crimes will be going through what they put others through to learn from it it will be sent back to them ive seen things like this happen

What is happening to America’s wild horses in the name of greed is a horror. I’ve seen it myself. The round up I witnessed last summer in Idaho left 11 fatalities and hundreds of horses on the adoption circuit or on the way to long term holding. Close knit families torn apart… it’s just wrong. Taxpayers are footing the bill to round up & warehouse our horses at a tremendous cost.
Please write, call, speak out for our horses. If we do not. they will disappear.
Please take action.
