Gnarls Barkley – Crazy (effect)
by Wordpress Gone Wild ~ January 21st, 2010. Filed under: Wordpress Gone Wild.Ok, this one was a serious lot of work. I tried to recreate the look of Gnarls Barkley’s videoclip of the song crazy. I’m sorry for the audio track. The animation is syncronized to the original song, but due to copyright protection I’m not allowed to upload it. (check out a live record of the song here: www.youtube.com The original video clip is not to be found on YouTube.
) In my video the track was replaced whith “Beat up” by Jason M. Feel free to rate and comment, or visit my Blog …

Not quite; simply some with the big parent media conglomerate objected and notified YouTube administration.
I *used* to have the video favorited that was submitted by GNARLS BARKLEY’S LABEL, but apparently that’s not good enough for these dinosaurs; if someone’s not paying to see/hear it, they forbid it, regardless if it’s acting as *free*marketing*…
Dinosaurs – these ones are dying, but aren’t dead yet, and be careful of being crushed by them during their death throes.

First of all I made some footage of ink dropping on a wet tissue. I keyed it out, to get rid of the white of the paper using After Affects. The guns and the birds were created with Illustrator and later on animated. To match everything together I uses some alpha mats and applied some color gradients to it.

but what about the moving face in black and white?

I used a greenscreen to seperate the face from the backgroung. Then I extremely increased the contrast until only black and white remained. Again some luma mats to blend it in…

August 7th, 2009 at 10:38 am
thank you! I recorded the ink drops by myselfe. I put a wet paper towel on a glass plate and filmed from below. Then I dropped ink on the towel, and later keyed out the white.

That was really good and I hope you can take constructive criticism well but one thing I think you can imporove on to make it better is at the end when the two pistols collapsed into each other it had a 2-D affect. I think it would have been better if it was 3-D. Now please I don’t want no one harrasing me in his defense saying “you can’t do anything near as good” yea I admit that so don’t tell me something I already know. I’m just talking to him not the audience. BTW I meant no offense. 5*s
